So pole-dancing with Liz was all sorts of fun. We laughed, we (I) almost cried, we got big bruises, welts, metal burns (feels like an indian burn), and LOTS of sore muscles in our arms, thighs, armpits, shins, pretty much all over the place. Who'da thought it would be that hard?! Not me. But is was really athletic, obviously.

And what was super-interesting to me, was that the lady who taught the class, Karyn (sp?) used to be a stripper (not a pole-dancer, either) for like seven years and she was so analytical. Her theories on why we behave/walk/talk/etc like we do were very intriguing. She said she wants to write a book called, "Everything I Need to Know I Learned in a Titty Bar." She went on to say how pole-dancing (and life) is all about the marketing angle... selling the 'possibility' of you having this thing you want. I coulda picked her brain for a while, but we only had about an hour and a half, and a lot of that was learning these contortionist moves on the pole called 'tricks.' And they certainly were tricky. Liz got them pretty much right off, but I nearly quit. But once i started getting the 'hang' of things (pun intended), it was really fun. Like swinging on the monkey bars at kindergarden recess. I'm going to look for someplace around here I can try it... like a class, not some random stopsign ;-)

Dallas, you're only a day away

Ok, I admit it. I got some Daylilies just because Liz said hers were pretty. LOL But she was right! :)

I've been updating a lot of pics on my gardenstew account and that's cool 'cause people help me identify plants I have but don't know what they are.

James bought a stuffed dinosaur for the future baby's room, today. He's so outta control about buying little things like that here and there, but it's fun to see him excited. I can't wait to see what he's like when we are actually pregnant!

< There's what the veggie garden is looking like these days. Pretty crazy, huh?

Anyway, I leave work in 25 minutes and then at 5am tomorrow I'm out the door and headed to Dallas to the weekend to see Liz! Pole-dancing here we come!

Grizzy's Ailments

The last post got me thinking about how unfortunate my dog is health-wise:

- Seizures (every 2 or 3 months that last between 15 minutes and 3 hours)
- Bad skin (Needed 4 wierd growths removed, including the mast cell tumor)
- Leaky bladder (may be neurologically caused from the seizures)
- Allergic to plastic (gets blistery hives)
- Allergic to chicken byproducts in dog food (gives him flakey skin)
- Sensitive stomach (throws up medication, throws up when very hungry, throws up when stressed)

The more I think about it, I guess he's just about falling apart. But we love him anyways :)

Grizzy's non-chemo

So, yesterday the oncologist gave us a very long-winded explaination of his opinion that boils down to this:

Grizzy's tumor was a stage 2. Stage 1 is no big deal and stage 3 is near death. Stage 2 goes either way, depending on the tumor's location. Being on his "prepuse" is bad, apparently. He would normally recommend chemo following the surgery but with his history of siezures (the most recent one being this last friday night for two hours) and of sensitive stomach (he throws up like every kind of medication & even dry-heaves when he's overly hungry), the doc isn't so quick to jump on chemo. He says it's up to us, but we would be okay not to do chemo, unless we want to be super-aggressive about it and "leave no stone unturned."

Either way, no matter if we do chemo or not he still has to get a skin check done once a month for the next 6 months, and an ultrasound every 3 months. I don't know how much the skin checks are, but the ultrasounds are $300 each. If we did do chemo, it would total a little over $4,000. So that is sadly, a factor too. So for now I guess we're not going to do the chemo, I think.

And I know Lil already knows, but I'm going to Dallas in 2 weeks!!! YAY!!!! Just wanted to rub it in! lol! I love you sisters!
